Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients in need of respiratory therapy services.

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide students enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program with the opportunity to continue developing their patient assessment, management, and critical thinking skills while completing their education.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients in need of oxygen therapy, ventilation, and other respiratory care services.
  • Assess patient respiratory status and develop individualized care plans to meet their needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest respiratory therapy techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Enrollment in a CoARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC).
  • Completion of one year (or equivalent) of the program.
  • Availability to work between 8-24 hours per week for the duration of the Preceptor Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Customer Service experience.
