We are seeking a motivated and skilled individual to fill the role of Registered Nurse in our clinical setting. This position involves the admission of patients to the clinical area and delivering nursing care to pre-operative patients. You will also be responsible for creating individualized nursing care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Our center operates on a teamwork model, and staff may be cross-trained in various clinical areas to meet the evolving needs of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and therapeutic environment in the pre-operative area for all patients.
- Ensure the availability and proper functioning of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Admit patients to the unit and prepare them for their scheduled procedures.
- Conduct initial assessments to determine nursing needs and communicate any additional discharge requirements.
- Provide explanations of nursing procedures to alleviate patient anxiety.
- Monitor patients' medical conditions and report significant changes to the appropriate medical personnel.
- Verify that surgical consent, pre-operative test results, and medical history are documented before procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative and post-operative follow-up calls to patients.
- Document all patient care accurately in the medical records.
- Implement physician orders promptly and accurately.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care and procedures.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures of the center.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and center-related business.
- Foster effective working relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate clinical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Adapt to unexpected changes in the work environment.
- Complete all patient care responsibilities in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure in the State of Texas.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- High School diploma; some college education preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical office setting.
