Melwood Veterans Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodial Worker to join our team. As a Custodial Worker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:- Sweep and Mop Hallways, Stairs, and Offices: Ensure all areas are clean and free of debris.
- Empty Wastebaskets and Dispose of Trash: Properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
- Dust Horizontal Surfaces: Dust all surfaces, including furniture and fixtures.
- Empty and Wash Ashtrays: Clean and sanitize ashtrays.
- Clean Bathrooms: Ensure all bathroom areas are clean and well-stocked.
- Wax and Buff Floors: Maintain the appearance of our floors.
- Clean Glass and Windows: Ensure all glass and windows are clean and free of streaks.
- Wash Walls and Other Vertical Surfaces: Clean all walls and vertical surfaces.
- Sweep and Clear Snow from Outside Steps and Sidewalks: Ensure all exterior areas are clear of snow and ice.
- Polish Kick Panels, Doorknobs, and Other Designated Fixtures: Maintain the appearance of our fixtures.
- Strip and Wax Floors: Maintain the appearance of our floors.
- Vacuum Rugs: Ensure all rugs are clean and free of debris.
- Mix Cleaning Solutions: Prepare cleaning solutions as needed.
- Maintain Issued Equipment: Ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
- Notify Supervisor When Supplies and Equipment Are Needed: Inform supervisor of any needed supplies or equipment.
- Physical Qualifications: Must be able to stand 80% of the work time, walk 15%, and sit 5%. Must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds. Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle.
- Qualifications: Must have six months training or experience. Must be capable of performing the essential functions. Must be able to pass security clearance for designated contracts.
