Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing all site construction activities, ensuring the highest quality, and successfully completing the project on schedule and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including master schedules and look-ahead schedules for assigned trades.
  • Implement and maintain corporate safety program requirements in all day-to-day operations on the project.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the project team to discuss project status and address any issues.
  • Prepare daily construction reports and ensure risk controls are properly established and maintained.
  • Establish and maintain a system of document control to ensure work is installed in accordance with the latest design documentation.
  • Communicate with designers and project managers to resolve issues and ensure project progress.
  • Assist in preparation of the monthly status report to be submitted to the client.
  • Ensure required permits and approvals are secured, posted, and renewed as required prior to starting work.
  • Work in partnership with the project manager to identify and address issues of constructability or lack of scope during the preconstruction phase.
  • Participate in the development and final review of scope, buy-out, and schedule.
  • Research and review owner, landlord, city/state requirements or procedures to avoid project delays, ensure safety, and/or ensure client satisfaction.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments, including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections.
  • Oversee all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, quality control, and a clean site.
  • Work in partnership with the project manager to maintain an updated and accurate project schedule that reflects the changes in project status and meets the cost and time requirements of the project.
  • Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors, instilling this philosophy in the project team at all times.
  • Maintain and review the punch list process to ensure all items are addressed and executed in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Requires an Engineering, Construction Management, or related Bachelor's degree, or possess equivalent years of related experience.
  • Requires 7+ years of experience working on core/shell projects, with previous hotel experience being a plus but not necessary.
  • Requires a working knowledge of various construction disciplines, union agreements/jurisdiction, cost control, scheduling, safety regulations, engineering drawings, and other documents required.
  • NYC Buildings Construction Superintendent License.
  • 10-Hour OSHA and 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate.
  • 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate.
