Job Summary:

This is an engaging role that requires prompt, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service. You will be the primary point of contact for guest interactions, responsible for explaining menu items, answering questions, and serving food and beverages with knowledge, hospitality, and service skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Take Food and Beverage Orders: Take orders from guests, enter orders into the POS system, and ensure accuracy.
  • Deliver Orders: Bring orders to each table in a timely manner, confirming with the chefs and bartenders as needed.
  • Offer Suggestions: Use suggestive selling techniques to recommend daily specials, cocktails, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and after-dinner beverages.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Perform side work at the start and end of each shift, maintaining cleanliness and condition of work areas and equipment.
  • Implement Steps of Service: Ensure consistent implementation of steps of service for guests.
  • Ensure Guest Satisfaction: Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring satisfaction with food and service.
  • Prepare Final Bill: Prepare the final bill, present it to the guest, accept payment, process credit card charges, or make change as needed.
  • Assist Fellow Servers: Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  • Set Tables: Assist with setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties.
  • Perform Other Duties: Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: 3+ years of restaurant experience in the hospitality industry, with Private Member Club experience preferred.
  • Michelin Restaurant Experience: Michelin restaurant experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fine Dining: Must have excellent knowledge of fine dining room and service procedures and functions.
  • Guest Service Skills: Outstanding guest service skills are required.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Team Player: Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Math Skills: Possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register and POS system.
  • Professional Presentation: Professional presentation and positive attitude are required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Availability: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • High-Volume Environment: Ability to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Certifications: NYC Food Handlers Permit and TIPS certification are preferred.
