Job Description

The Northern Virginia Volleyball Association (NVVA) is a premier organization dedicated to delivering top-tier volleyball training to over 2,500 athletes across Virginia. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our dynamic programs, where every team member, from coaches to financial operations, plays a crucial role in enhancing athlete development and curriculum efficiency.

As the Financial Operations Specialist, you will be part of a team that is central to maintaining our programs' seamless operation and financial integrity. You will ensure that our expansive and constantly evolving programs are supported by robust financial strategies and management practices. This position requires a blend of financial acumen and a commitment to supporting the organizational goals, which aim to provide the best volleyball training experiences and ensure our athletes and coaches have the resources they need to succeed.

NVVA's dynamic environment presents challenges that demand innovative solutions, particularly in integrating new volleyball training methods and sports technologies. By keeping our operations efficient and up to date, you will directly contribute to the growth and success of our athletes and the overall development of volleyball in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute various financial tasks within our organization.
  • Maintain our financial health through diligent expense management, payroll administration, and budget tracking.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports outlining current financial status and projections for the finance director and CEO.
  • Support the Finance Director in various bookkeeping tasks, including maintaining ledgers, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least [X years] of experience in financial management, payroll, and bookkeeping.
  • Strong proficiency in [specify software, e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, payroll systems].
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present financial data to non-finance personnel.
