Support the Site Manager/Pharmacist-In-Charge with various responsibilities within the pharmacy environment. Deliver exceptional customer service, assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies, input new and refill prescriptions into the computer system, collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain refill requests, manage cash register transactions, receive patient prescriptions, verify stock against invoices, and help maintain an organized pharmacy setting.
Location: FV Clinics - North Branch, North Branch MN
Hours: 64 hours per pay period
Schedule: day/evening shift, one weekend per month
This is a full-time benefit-eligible position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process prescriptions from patients, ensuring all necessary information is gathered. Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as assigned, including counting, pouring, and labeling prescriptions. Efficiently process manual prescriptions, including Medicare B, VA Medical, and Worker's Compensation.
- Verify insurance coverage and resolve related issues to meet customer needs. Address third-party prescription inquiries, which may involve prior authorizations, vacation supplies, dosage adjustments, price checks, and drug utilization reviews.
- Accurately process new and refill prescriptions in the computer system, including entering refill authorization requests and calculating complex prescriptions such as compounds and injectables.
- Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the pharmacy computer system and utilize reporting tools as necessary.
- Respond to customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and service-oriented manner. Handle cash register transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Demonstrate the ability to provide care or service, adjusting approaches to reflect the developmental level and cultural differences of the population served.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Meet all organizational requirements and complete all necessary training relevant to the role.
- Comply with and maintain knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Encourage a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in retail and/or pharmacy settings.
- Active pharmacy technician registration with the MN Board of Pharmacy.
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program.
- One to three years of experience in retail and/or pharmacy.
- Strong customer service skills, proficiency in the English language, attention to detail, effective problem-solving abilities, adherence to policies and procedures, basic math and typing skills, and excellent communication skills.
