Synerfac is seeking a dedicated SUE Crew Chief to join our team. This role involves overseeing a team of Utility Locators tasked with identifying the locations of underground utilities.

As a SUE Crew Chief, your primary responsibility will be to lead the crew in accurately detecting and documenting the paths of various underground utilities, including cables and pipes.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and guide a team of SUE professionals.
  • Utilize advanced locating techniques and equipment to identify underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and sewer lines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all locates performed and ensure records are accurate.
  • Communicate any issues encountered during the locating process to the department manager and make necessary corrections to maps.
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of locating equipment.
  • Uphold the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all field data collected for projects under your supervision, in accordance with project specifications and discussions with management.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in utilizing designating equipment for horizontal line location using ground penetrating radar (GPR) and electromagnetic detection.
  • Prior experience in a leadership role within a SUE crew is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills to address various technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to interruptions while meeting deadlines.
  • Physical ability to work in confined spaces and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend work as required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings.
