About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Calibration Technician to join our team at Abbott Laboratories. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of our measurement and test equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibrations on a wide range of equipment, from simple hand tools to complex test equipment.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for external calibration vendors, resolving issues and coordinating efforts.
  • Conduct routine testing and maintenance of equipment, ensuring compliance with work instruction documentation.
  • Repair and calibrate equipment as needed, utilizing various measurement and test equipment.
  • Prepare and review reports, including Work Orders, IQs, and other documentation.
  • Train junior technicians on calibration procedures and documentation.
  • Review external vendor certifications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform 4:1 TAR and guard banding calculations, obtaining standard accuracy data as required.
  • Assist with OOT investigations and reviews, updating documentation in Windchill/Viewpoint and Maximo EAM as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required; minimum 5 years of related experience preferred.
  • Associates degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field; ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification a plus.
  • Progressively more responsible related work experience in calibration of test equipment.
  • Established eye-hand coordination, ability to work with small precision devices, and comprehensive knowledge of calibration and test equipment.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
