Job Title: Lead Technician

At MetroSys, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join our IT team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all IT operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our IT infrastructure, and leading efforts to maintain the security and efficiency of our network and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and work closely with a small team of IT technicians, assign daily tasks, and ensure efficient workflow within the IT team.
  • Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Lead the team in providing technical support to employees, addressing hardware, software, and network issues, and perform hands-on troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex IT issues.
  • Network and Systems Management: Oversee the management, maintenance, and security of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations, and implement updates, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and security.
  • Project Coordination: Lead small-scale IT projects, such as system upgrades, software deployments, or network expansions, and coordinate with other departments to align IT initiatives with business goals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of IT activities, including support tickets, system configurations, and changes, and prepare and submit reports on IT operations, including performance metrics and incident analyses.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect company data and systems, conduct regular security audits, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an IT technician or in a related role.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a small team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience with network administration, system management, and IT support.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular working hours with occasional need for flexibility during critical IT incidents.
  • Hands-on work involving troubleshooting, installations, and system management.
  • On-call availability may be required to address urgent IT issues.
