Position Overview
The Senior ADAS Engineer plays a pivotal role in orchestrating and executing a variety of testing and development initiatives crucial for achieving departmental and organizational objectives. This position involves close collaboration with teams in Japan, international engineering groups, and external partners to ensure cohesive development of ADAS software technologies. The engineer will be responsible for specific ADAS technologies, overseeing their development, validation, and testing within various projects. This role encompasses both hands-on coordination and strategic oversight to guarantee the successful integration of advanced driver-assistance systems, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and exceed customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) Lateral Control software functions and optimize vehicle control systems.
  • Formulate functional software requirements related to CAN interface, self-diagnostic capabilities, and failsafe detection for vehicle development, collaborating with system suppliers for integration and verification.
  • Oversee project management activities, ensuring thorough testing of vehicle systems, negotiating hardware and software interfaces for system integration, and troubleshooting vehicles during testing phases.
  • Manage development schedules, coordinate with related departments and suppliers, and research emerging technologies and market trends.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation and reports, including detailed root cause analyses as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or Controls Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • In-depth understanding of vehicle dynamics and steering control functions, with experience in tuning vehicle control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of requirements management, function validation, diagnostics, and CAN structures.
  • Hands-on mechanical skills and a solid understanding of vehicle systems.
  • Analytical capabilities to prepare prototype vehicles for testing.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting system issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for various testing and supplier engagements.
  • Valid driver's license required for vehicle operation during testing.
  • Proficient in PC applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, CANalyzer, CANape, and other technical software).
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to gathering information and translating concepts into specific requirements.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems and Vector CAN tools is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical hardware fundamentals and the software development process.
  • Strong presentation skills.
