Job Title: Closures Design - Automotive

We are seeking a highly skilled Closures Design Engineer to join our team at HCPL Global Consulting & Services. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-volume closures assemblies and parts for the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop closures assemblies and parts using CATIA V5/V6 software
  • Collaborate with OEM design engineers to develop door outer panels, latch reinforcements, intrusion beams, and other structural panels
  • Work with closures mechanisms team to package latches systems
  • Design and create sheet metal parts, such as brackets, panels, and sashes
  • Develop 3D designs and 2D drawings using CATIA V6 software
  • Engage with automotive OEM design engineers to collaborate on design projects
  • Collaborate with key closures system and sheet metal component suppliers to support overall vehicle development milestones and prototype/production build events
  • Apply strong working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing, including familiarity with GD&T and dimensional engineering

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of proven experience designing high-volume closures assemblies and parts
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering design and development concepts of automotive closures systems
  • Very good proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 software
