The Clinic Access Representative is responsible for ensuring a seamless patient experience by accurately registering patients in the electronic medical record (EMR) system. ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service- Provide courteous and informative advice to patients regarding collection and billing procedures, ensuring they understand their liability and responsibility.
- Welcome and greet all patients and families in a timely and professional manner.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries in a prompt and respectful manner.
- Inform patients of their rights and Advance Directives upon request.
- Accurately obtain and edit patient and insurance information in the EMR system.
- Process patient referrals accurately and efficiently.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments as needed, ensuring effective patient flow through the clinic.
- Complete a variety of clerical duties, including answering phone calls, retrieving medical records, and recording data.
- Filing patient charts and information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Research and resolve claim edits and denials within 2 days of notification.
- Verify and resolve discrepancies in billing information, including charge information from physicians.
- Key charges and process batches daily, preparing a bank/deposit summary immediately after balancing payments.
- Review diagnosis and procedure codes for accuracy and enter data into the system at point of service.
- Verify and collect patient payments for services rendered, reconciling daily cash funds.
6 months experience in a customer service/front desk role or a graduate of a front office/medical office program. Bachelor's degree may substitute for experience. Professional demeanor, excellent customer service skills, ability to multi-task, critical thinking, and demonstrated computer literacy required.
