Automation Systems Engineer

Symbotic is a leading automation technology company reimagining the supply chain with its AI-powered robotic and software platform. We're seeking an Automation Systems Engineer to join our Software System Analysis team, responsible for developing data and analysis tools to extract information from large data sets generated during testing.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or Computer Science, with a minimum of 3 years of experience. They should also have experience using data query languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python), statistical/mathematical software (e.g. Matlab, R, etc), and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau). Additionally, they should be familiar with source code control, unit testing, design and defect tracking tools. The salary for this role is estimated at around $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will establish methods for identifying, measuring, and improving critical performance factors that contribute to customer-visible operational metrics. They will develop data-driven visualization tools to describe and report complex system performance and behaviors. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to design experiments, analyze and interpret results, and develop performance reports to influence system performance improvements and next-generation robotic automation solutions. They will also communicate findings to technical and leadership teams to drive root-cause findings and help drive solution development.
Requirements
The candidate should have a strong analytical, creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills. They should also be able to travel up to 15% of the time, having a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. Furthermore, they should own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
