Electrical Apprentice Job Description

Join Freedom Forever as an Electrical Apprentice and contribute to the growth of our residential solar installation team. As an Electrical Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced electricians to perform installations, alterations, and repairs of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with planning and completing Main Panel Upgrades (MPU) to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system components to resolve electrical issues and ensure compliance with current NEC and local codes.
  • Document project progress by taking photos and completing work orders.
  • Maintain company vehicles stocked with necessary tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to company policies, environmental health and safety policies, and good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications:
  • Must possess or obtain an Apprentice License within the state of employment if applicable.
  • Minimum 2 years of electrical installation and repair experience preferred.
  • High School Graduate or GED.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge and experience replacing residential electrical services and distribution panels.
  • Ability to effectively manage work to achieve required timelines.
  • Must be experienced with all required hand and power tools associated with the electrical trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret single-line drawings.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record and valid state driver's license.
Physical Demands and Abilities:
  • Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.

  • Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired.
  • Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position.
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet.
  • While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side.
  • Lift 50+ pounds.
