Job Overview:

Rock Point Search is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with expertise in HVAC systems to join our remote team. As a Remote Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

About You:
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on HVAC technologies, and the ability to work effectively in a remote setting. You should also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as experience in project management and meeting project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop HVAC systems, considering factors such as load calculations, equipment selection, and energy efficiency.
  2. Conduct technical analysis and simulations to optimize HVAC system performance and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  3. Manage remote projects from initiation to completion, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and client expectations.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, electrical engineers, and project managers, to integrate HVAC designs into larger construction projects.
  5. Ensure HVAC designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders through virtual meetings, email, and collaboration platforms.
  7. Develop and execute testing protocols to validate the performance and reliability of HVAC systems.
What You Need:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on HVAC system design.
  3. Proficiency in HVAC design software and simulation tools.
  4. Strong understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to HVAC systems.
  5. Effective communication and collaboration skills for remote work.
  6. Experience in project management and the ability to meet project deadlines.
  7. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
