Job Title: Assistant District Attorney - Narcotics Prosecution

The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant District Attorney to join our team. As a key member of our Narcotics Prosecution Unit, you will be responsible for prosecuting felony narcotics cases from inception through final disposition.

Responsibilities:
  • Prosecute felony narcotics cases in New York State Supreme Court
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement partners to investigate and effectively address persistent felony drug activity and associated violence
  • Conduct hearings and trials, as well as present cases to Special Narcotics Grand Juries
  • Research and respond to complex legal issues during motion practice
  • Conduct search warrant duty, surety hearings, and calendar calls in court parts
  • Work effectively to further office goals of decreasing demand for narcotics by raising public awareness and facilitating treatment for those with substance use issues
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Minimum of two years of litigation experience
  • US Citizenship and New York State Residency
  • Member in good standing of the NY State Bar
  • Commitment to the fair and ethical administration of justice and ability to exercise prosecutor's role with sound judgment and professionalism
  • Strong written, interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment and handle a high volume of cases and investigations
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
