Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our team at Florence County, SC. As an EMT, you will be responsible for providing emergency medical care and transportation to patients in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide basic and advanced life support treatment to patients
  • Assess patients' physical condition and make decisions regarding proper courses of action
  • Perform duties such as CPR, splint application, wound treatment, and oxygen administration
  • Monitor and relay vital signs and notify hospitals, doctors, and dispatchers of patients' conditions
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and ambulance
  • Responsible for the completion of required records and reports
  • Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including patients, families, hospital staff, and law enforcement personnel
Requirements
  • High school diploma and South Carolina certification as a paramedic, basic, intermediate, or advanced emergency medical technician
  • Five to eleven months of EMS experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must be in good physical health and possess a valid state driver's license
  • Must achieve minimum required scores on written and practical pre-employment examinations administered by Florence County EMS
