Endoscopy Pre/Post Op RN Job Description

United Surgical Partners is seeking a motivated Endoscopy Pre/Post Op RN to join our team at USPI Memorial Hermann Bay Area Endoscopy Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced outpatient surgical environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patients' health status in pre-op and ensure accuracy of identification wristband
  • Ensure operative and informed consents are in order
  • Determine the surgeon and procedure being carried out
  • Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedure
  • Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about the procedure and attending medical staff
Post-Operative Duties:
  • Assess patients' condition after a surgery has been performed
  • Ensure all vitals are within normal range
  • Log all findings in patients' files
  • Answer patients' questions and ensure they are kept comfortable
  • Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor
  • Initiate patient education programs to ensure patients and families are educated on procedures and medications
  • Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies
Requirements:
  • Candidates must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
  • Must have a current unrestricted RN license in the state.
  • Minimum 2-year experience in a hospital setting or ASC setting
  • Current American Heart BLS certification.
