Job Title: Junior Mechanical Engineer

Azure Summit Technology is seeking a highly skilled Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical design and support to our production and R&D operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical systems and components for our products and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program managers, systems engineers, electrical engineers, and test engineers, to plan and execute new and existing hardware designs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including test procedures, assembly documentation, and inspection, for mechanical interfaces.
  • Support the development of test fixtures and tooling.
  • Work with machine shops to fabricate mechanical hardware through all phases of the manufacturing process.
  • Establish baselines for mechanical interfaces in proposed designs.
Requirements:
  • US citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year experience performing mechanical engineering in a defense contracting environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Mechanical design experience related to RFI/EMI enclosures, boxes, shielding.
  • Mechanical design experience of structures, fixtures, enclosures, frames for electrical printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Experience using Catia, ProE, SolidWorks, AutoCad.
  • Experience with heat transfer analysis tools (AnSys).
  • Hands-on experience using milling machine, lathe, drill press.
  • Experience writing inspection and assembly documentation.
  • Experience coordinating with machine shops in the fabrication of mechanical hardware.
