SUMMARY
This role is essential in ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures of Commonwealth Business Bank while complying with all applicable State and Federal banking regulations. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying and escalating any suspicious activities in alignment with regulatory requirements.
POSITION SUMMARY
The BSA Compliance Analyst plays a critical role in the daily operations of the Bank's alert review process, conducting thorough investigations into suspicious account activities. This includes identifying potential money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities to maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the USA Patriot Act.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct detailed investigations and analyses of account activities to identify indicators of financial crimes such as money laundering, fraud, and tax evasion.
- Manage the workflow from alert review through to the decision-making process regarding Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).
- Respond to internal referrals regarding unusual transactions and collaborate with bank personnel as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory timelines and maintain accurate records as mandated by law.
- Review and analyze legal documents related to accounts.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members on investigative techniques and compliance standards.
- Adhere strictly to all Bank policies and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in ongoing training to enhance banking knowledge and compliance skills.
- Support management with special projects and assignments as needed.
- This position requires full-time onsite presence.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of four years of experience in BSA compliance or a closely related field.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and security protocols.
- Excellent computer proficiency along with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and exercise sound judgment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- CAMS or CFE certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
