Job Summary

The Assistant Program Director will provide leadership and support to our Alternative DYS Detention Program in Chicopee, MA. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for working with adolescents in a high-risk setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate bi-monthly full staff meetings to ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members.
  • Participate in weekly administrative meetings to contribute to the development and implementation of program policies and procedures.
  • Provide direct formal supervision to shift supervisors, ensuring they have the necessary support and resources to excel in their roles.
  • Maintain and implement program policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation of administrators, providing 24/7 support to the program and its stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, ensuring the smooth operation of the program.
  • Contribute to the management and planning of the program through participation in weekly Supervisor's meetings, Staff meetings, and monthly Departmental Supervisor's meetings.
  • Complete DYS training academy requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • A combination of two years supervisory experience and higher education in a social services degree.
  • At least two years experience working with adolescents in a high-risk setting.
  • Working understanding of Social Service Agencies and their functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with collaterals and above Social Service Agencies.
  • Valid driver's license and meeting Agency requirements for driving history records.
