Server - Hospitality Ambassador

Job Summary:
As a Server at SERG Restaurant Group, you will be the face of our establishment, providing exceptional dining experiences for our guests. Your primary objective is to deliver Coastal Hospitality, ensuring our guests feel valued and want to return.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all guests.
- Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of the SERG Restaurant Group.
- Monitor and observe guests' dining experiences to ensure satisfaction with food and service, responding promptly and courteously to correct any problems.
- Collect payments from guests and accurately process transactions.
- Take food or beverage orders from guests, either by writing them down, memorizing them, or entering them into the POS system.
- Check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consuming alcoholic beverages, in accordance with restaurant and regulatory guidelines.
- Serve food or beverages to guests, preparing or serving specialty dishes as required.
- Present menus to guests, answering questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services.
- Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials, making recommendations based on your knowledge of the menu.
- Clean tables or counters after guests have finished dining.
- Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, presenting bottles of wine.
- Roll silverware, set up food stations, or prepare dining areas for the next shift or large parties.
- Stock service areas with supplies, such as coffee, food, tableware, linens, etc.
- Explain menu items to guests, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting up linens, silverware, and glassware.
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, taking them to the kitchen for cleaning.
- Assist the host or hostess by answering phones, taking reservations or to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
- Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up the server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning the bathroom.
- Bring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses, pouring the wines for guests.
- Garnish and decorate dishes in preparation for serving.
- Fill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiment, and napkin containers.
- Provide guests with information about local areas, including giving directions.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings, training, and offer suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinate with and assist fellow employees to meet guests' needs and support the operation of the restaurant.
- Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to understand and speak using the predominant language(s) of guests.
- Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and containers weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
