Job Title: Associate General Counsel

Cornerstone Research is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide critical support to our corporate groups and consultants, ensuring that our business operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal counsel and act as a thought leader and business partner to our corporate groups and consultants.
  • Ensure that our business operations are conducted in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and negotiate agreements and other documents relating to client engagements.
  • Research complex legal issues impacting client engagements and general business obligations.
  • Assist with the collection of delinquent accounts and manage outside counsel as needed.
  • Respond to subpoenas or other inquiries, including from government agencies.
Requirements:
  • 10-15 years of directly related experience; law firm or professional services firm experience preferred.
  • Leadership: The desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and the firm.
  • Communication: The ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Business acumen: The ability to learn the firm's financial and operational functions.
  • Client service: The mindset to provide superior service to our internal and external clients.
  • Prior litigation experience in a mid-sized to large established law firm a plus, including in the healthcare or data privacy field.
  • Strong drafting skills are required.
  • Juris Doctorate and admission to State Bar are required.

FOR WASHINGTON, DC ONLY: Cornerstone Research is offering a competitive market base salary for this position between $230,600 and $261,200. A job offer will depend on how closely a candidate's skills, experience, and education match the requirements for the role. In addition to base salary, we offer a total compensation package that includes annual performance bonus and generous benefits.
