Position Purpose

The Engineering Services department at DivIHN Integration Inc is seeking a skilled Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Inspector to join our Project Services team. The selected individual will oversee fiber optic infrastructure projects for a key client.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage construction teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and communicate schedules effectively to construction partners.
  • Review project plans and specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to address project-related inquiries.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and local authorities regarding project delays and other challenges.
  • Collaborate with vendors and project managers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Conduct pre-construction site assessments to confirm cable routing and identify potential challenges.
  • Supervise fiber optic installation activities to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Regularly visit project sites to monitor progress and address any concerns raised by project managers or clients.
  • Ensure that vendors provide daily updates on construction progress.
  • Participate in construction meetings to discuss project risks and solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare inspection reports.
  • Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with local construction practices.
  • Review necessary permits and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the construction process.
  • Document all work conducted on-site accurately.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in utility construction.
  • Proficient knowledge of fiber optic systems and outside plant operations.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Essential Skills
  • In-depth understanding of fiber optic installation techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
Work Environment
