Nursing Services Educator Role

The Nursing Services Educator is a key member of the Rogers Behavioral Health team, responsible for delivering high-quality education and training programs to nurses and staff. This role requires a strong clinical knowledge base, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver education and training programs that integrate nursing scientific and theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles, and clinical nursing expertise.
  • Assist with systematic needs assessments and training throughout the system to ensure standardized nursing competence and provision of patient care.
  • Assess new nursing and staff members' clinical skill competence and confidence.
  • Focus on quality of patient-centered care and safety goals in all education and training projects.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate education and training programs for nurses and staff.
  • Assist in designing and implementing evaluation instruments, including assignments and tests, to determine the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Consult with nursing leadership to identify external trainers and consultants needed for training.
  • Coordinate academic practice partnerships student experience program.
Requirements:
  • Master of Science Degree in nursing or a related field, with a strong emphasis on psychiatric mental health clinical preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing, with a minimum of two years of experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing or ten years of experience in psychiatric/mental health nursing in lieu of a bachelor's nursing degree required.
  • Two years of clinical education/teaching or leadership experience in a behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
  • Registered Nurse licensed by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing. License must be in good standing with the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification or American Red Cross Professional Rescue is required within thirty days of date-of-hire. Bi-annual recertification is required.
  • Formal training in the management of aggressive patients is required within sixty days of date-of-hire. Annual recertification is required.
  • Computer proficiency required.
