We are seeking qualified candidates for a pool of part-time lecturers in the School of Education at the University of California, Davis. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching courses in various programs, including undergraduate, teacher credential, and doctoral programs. The salary and appointment level will be commensurate with experience. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies each year, and these are typically quarterly positions for the quarter of appointment only. Reappointment is based solely on instructional need, and each lecturer must undergo an annual review with a positive outcome before being considered for reappointment.
Qualifications
The basic qualifications for this position include a Master's degree or completion of 30 units of graduate work. Additional qualifications include coursework or other scholarly preparation relevant to the course assigned. Undergraduate Program Lecturers require a minimum of one year of teaching experience in higher education, including any time served as a teaching assistant. Capitol Area North Doctorate in Educational Leadership (CANDEL) Lecturers require a doctoral degree in Education, Human Resources, Law, or a related field. PhD in Education Lecturers require a doctoral degree in a field relevant to course coverage. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience in K-12 public schools, leadership experience in K-12, higher education, or public/private sector, and teaching experience in higher education.
