About the Role

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a vital role in the treatment team, serving as the primary liaison between clients, clinical staff, and medical professionals. This position is responsible for ensuring the implementation and integration of the person-centered treatment plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report client activities while providing structure and support of the clinical person-centered treatment plan.
  • Assist and monitor client activities throughout the shift.
  • Accompany clients during smoke breaks, mealtimes, and other activities.
  • Assist nursing staff at medication pass times.
  • Document shift notes, safety rounds, and client personal belongings inventory in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Perform duties at time of discharge upon graduation, administrative discharge, or AMA.
  • Gather clients for group programming.
  • Document client non-compliance.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and utilize effective communication skills.
  • Positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients.
  • Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, provide client-driven customer service, and exercise time management skills.
  • Scheduling flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation is required.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
