Key Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing physical and nursing assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice.
- Assess, plan, and evaluate patient care needs in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Administer prescribed medications, change dressings, clean wounds, and monitor vital signs.
- Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions.
- Implement nursing plans of care for assigned patients and conduct group therapy sessions.
- Evaluate patient responses to interventions and revise nursing plans as needed.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives, and interventions based on changes in patient status.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions using computerized documentation systems.
- Instruct and educate patients and families.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
- Orient and mentor new staff members.
Requirements
- Current Indiana RN licensure or active Compact State RN licensure.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing (RN).
- Customer service abilities, including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- BLS Certification.
- Crisis Prevention Certification training completion within 30 days of hire.
