Job Summary

Gibault is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Technician to join our team. As a key member of our residential program, you will play a vital role in providing support and supervision to youth in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement decisions from supervisors and managers while embodying a positive and compassionate attitude.
  • Provide a positive role model for clients through appearance, attitude, and behavior.
  • Attend in-services, General Staff Meetings, and meetings called by supervisors.
  • Work harmoniously and effectively with coworkers.
  • Accomplish objectives and produce satisfactory work.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Comply with department guidelines, organizational policies, and administrative expectations.
  • Provide programming for clients in your area of responsibility.
  • Transport clients to various locations for appointments, meetings, and outings.
  • Provide leadership, direction, encouragement, and coaching to clients throughout campus and in their assigned living unit.
  • Develop a proactive approach to supervision to minimize client behavioral problems and prevent crisis situations.
  • Enforce organizational and group living policies, procedures, and rules through the use of treatment tools.
  • Plan and facilitate recreation, leisure activities, and special events within your assigned living unit.
  • Communicate treatment and administrative issues to Clinical Services Therapists, Supervisors, and Administration.
  • Supervise the daily cleaning and organization of your assigned living unit to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a member of the Unit Treatment Team within your assigned living unit.
  • Successful completion of Cornell University's Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completed High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Submission to and passing of all required background checks.
