Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily aseptic operations at our manufacturing plant in Indianapolis, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production of our products, while also driving cost savings and improving overall performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Plan, organize, and direct daily plant operating requirements to meet and exceed operating metrics.
  • Cost Management: Initiate plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Leadership: Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties to ensure the success of the team.
  • Problem Solving: Encourage the use of innovative productivity techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving to drive continuous improvement.
  • Accountability: Establish group and individual accountability throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction.
  • Policy Development: Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures in consultation with senior management and staff members.
  • Staffing: Determine staffing requirements and improve manpower utilization within existing departments and processes.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with other department heads as required to ensure seamless operations.
  • Financial Management: Review daily departmental and plant-wide financial performance and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.
  • Safety: Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of increasingly responsible manufacturing experience, at least 5 years of which must be with aseptic processing in the food industry.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated leadership of safety initiatives and experience building a strong operations team.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and working knowledge of process control and improvement tools.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with the operations of all plant departments, including production, quality, maintenance, materials management, controllership, and human resources.
Physical Demands
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
  • Visual Acuity: Must be able to possess visual acuity to document company records.
