Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and courteous interactions with other associates
  • Understand and utilize company tools, such as ACIS and CAO, to optimize inventory management and ordering
  • Receive and process deliveries, rotate stock, and maintain proper product levels in the Perishable Department
  • Process beef and grinds, wrap, label, and stock meat cases as needed
  • Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as required
  • Properly clean and sanitize the department, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for customers and associates
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as Food Lion's policies and guidelines
  • Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron and name badge, maintaining a neat and clean appearance
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
  • Ability to use technical information to solve problems
  • Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations
Working Conditions

The Perishable Department Associate will work in a fast-paced retail environment, standing for long periods, and frequently walking short distances. The associate will be exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures, and will be required to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning and packaging materials.
