Commercial Loan Officer

The Generations Bank is seeking a skilled Commercial Loan Officer to join our team. As a Commercial Loan Officer, you will be responsible for promoting the Bank by building new relationships and maintaining excellent customer service while attaining established goals, through active participation in sales management and officer call programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in business development activities and solicit new business; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the Bank's products and services.
- Interview prospective applicants and request specified information related to loan or credit application; correspond or re-interview applicants to resolve questions regarding application information.
- Perform prequalification assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of financing requests within framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industry trends.
- Gather and analyze all information necessary to present a financing request to Senior Management or Loan Committee for approval; meet with existing or potential customers; visiting sites of loans; negotiate loan terms and conditions; approve loans within established lending limits or refer and recommend acceptance to the Chief Credit Officer or Loan Committee.
- Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, customer needs and conform to Bank lending policies; obtain sufficient information and/or documentation from customers; solve problems relative to processing and servicing of loans within his or her portfolio; approve loan disbursements in accordance with agreements.
- Ensure that credit inquires and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and appropriate collateral positioning are achieved.
- Ensure that certification or deletion of collateral is made by the appropriate personnel.
- Negotiate, underwrite, and process renewals of credit facilities.
- Approve loan payments, draws from lines of credit, and fund transfers within specified limits.
- Authorize commitment, engagement, auction and decline letters.
- Reinforce the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.
- Verify funds with mortgage companies and contractors.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates, vendors, and competition.
- Represent the Bank in various community, civic, and community reinvestment functions to further enhance the Bank's image and develop additional business; assist the Bank in establishing and maintaining market position in the financing arena.
- May review NSF and overdraft reports for customers assigned within his or her portfolio; approve or decline such exceptions within established lending limits.
- Cross sell the Bank's other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as indicated.
- Update and correspond with legal counsel and collectors on workouts, bankruptcies, and charge-offs to ensure all possible precautionary actions or measures are taken.
- Assist in meeting annual loan growth goals assigned by Executive Management; participate in various internal committees assigned by Executive Management.
- Respond to inquiries or refer inquiries to the appropriate department or person and exhibit the necessary follow-through with customers and/or staff involved.
- Consistently apply superior decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using these instances as learning tools for employee development.
- Process, solve, and answer complex customer transactions, problems, or inquiries.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank data.

- Perform the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions. The employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to one's own actions and conduct.
The position of Loan Officer performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
The position of Loan Officer is not responsible for the supervision of any employees.
Additional Details
This full-time, non-exempt position is based in Bentonville and reports to the Market President. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8-5. The working arrangement is on-site. After Hours/Weekends: as a Community Bank, we are committed to serving our community Accordingly, our employees have an opportunity to participate in events after normal business hours for community outreach activities.
Environment and Physical Activity
The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position includes driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately 10-15% of the time which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
The incumbent, while performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 10 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching. The incumbent may operate any or all the following: telephone, smart phone, copy machine, adding machine (calculator), scanner and image systems, scanning equipment, computer terminal, laptop, personal computer, tablet, printers, or other office equipment as directed. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Bachelor's degree and/or 3 or more years of lending experience.
- Ability to perform the essential functions, mental, and physical demands of the job as listed above.
- Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
