**Job Summary**

The Staff Training Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Health Services Learning and Operational Effectiveness Leader in the planning and implementation of internal onboarding training programs, policies, and procedures. This position will collaborate with the Health Services Learning and Operational Effectiveness Leader to empower staff to be effective members of the Health Services team.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide on-site training and mentoring for Reproductive Health Assistants in performing a variety of responsibilities in direct patient care in adherence to PPGTs medical standards and guidelines and Planned Parenthood's In This Together Service Standards.
  • Exemplify and coach staff to practice a patient-centered approach to healthcare delivery centering Planned Parenthood's customer service values as demonstrated by interactions showing respect, knowledge, responsibility, compassion, and access to care.
  • Train staff to provide information about medical services and referrals, answer questions about birth control, pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, urinary tract infections, breast issues, and sexuality in a non-biased, non-judgmental, and non-directive manner to allow clients to make informed decisions regarding their health.
  • Understand and comply with regulations from all governing entities and health center protocols, including but not limited to Patient Rights, Child Abuse identification and reporting, infection control, laboratory protocols, emergency evacuation, risk management, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards.
  • Evaluate current processes and identify operational improvements to increase efficiency; assist in developing a systems-based approach for staff.
  • Deliver technically sound training for Planned Parenthood's electronic health record system (NextGen) to all Health Services team members.
  • Work with Health Center Managers to monitor the progress of new hires throughout the onboarding period to ensure needs are met and training documentation is maintained.
  • Work to identify employee competency and skill gaps for health center staff, provide feedback regarding possible areas of improvement, and develop tailored training to meet the assessed needs as appropriate.
  • Evaluate performance and effectiveness of health services training programs, provide recommendations for improvement.

**Qualifications**

  • Related experience defined as direct patient care experience in a healthcare facility (e.g. medical assistant, patient care technician, CNA, phlebotomist) or relevant employee training experience.
  • H/S Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of related experience.
  • Planned Parenthood experience preferred.
  • Electronic Practice Management system or Electronic Health Records system experience preferred (EPM/EHR).

**Required Licenses or Certifications**

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain BLS CPR certification.
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Phlebotomist training preferred.
