Position Overview:
As a Mortgage Processor II, you will play a crucial role in the loan processing lifecycle, ensuring that all conventional and government loan applications are handled efficiently and in compliance with relevant guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process loan requests in accordance with product specifications, underwriting standards, and applicable state and investor regulations.
- Facilitate clear communication among all stakeholders involved in the loan application process, including customers, brokers, loan officers, and internal teams to enhance the application experience.
- Collaborate with various departments and external entities to gather necessary documentation, such as Verification of Employment, IRS Transcripts, title searches, appraisals, and bank statements.
- Promptly inform relevant parties of any discrepancies or issues related to standard mortgage guidelines.
- Regularly monitor and update credit reports, appraisals, income documentation, and verifications to ensure all underwriting conditions are satisfied.
- Work closely with underwriting teams to address and resolve any concerns swiftly.
- Perform additional administrative tasks supporting the origination department, including preparing commitment letters, reviewing title and homeowners insurance, and updating loan conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal guidelines.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to assess and implement necessary changes to regulatory documents.
- Uphold the company's risk management standards and policies, identifying any risk-related issues for escalation.
- Foster a diverse and inclusive work environment that reflects the company's values.
- Maintain internal control standards, ensuring timely resolution of audit points and regulatory concerns.
- Complete other related duties as assigned.
- Collaborate effectively with both internal and external customers, including co-workers, borrowers, and loan officers.
- An associate's degree with at least one year of experience in the mortgage industry, or two years of equivalent work experience. Alternatively, three years of relevant work experience, including at least one year in the mortgage sector.
- Six months of specific bank mortgage processing experience, complemented by an additional 6-12 months in customer service, operations, or the financial services sector.
- Proficient PC skills, with a strong command of spreadsheet, word processing, email, and PDF software.
- Ability to make informed decisions based on provided information.
- Familiarity with product, investor, and compliance requirements.
- Adaptability to a fast-paced mortgage environment and evolving policies.
- Capacity to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong multitasking abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and prioritization skills.
