Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

Fetter Health Care Network Inc is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our clinicians in meeting patient care follow-up, exam room setup, and meeting organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
  • Preparing patients for the healthcare visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room, providing examination gowns and drapes, and helping them to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment.
  • Verifying patient information by interviewing the patient, reviewing and/or recording medical history, taking vital signs, and confirming the purpose of the visit or treatment.
  • Supporting patient care delivery by helping healthcare providers during examinations, preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests on the premises, disposing of contaminated supplies, sterilizing medical instruments, administering medications on the premises, authorizing drug refills as directed, telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies, drawing blood, taking electrocardiograms, removing sutures, and changing dressings.
  • Educating patients by providing medication and diet information and instructions and answering questions.
  • Completing records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results. Generating revenues by recording billing information of services rendered, completing insurance forms, and responding to insurance and other third-party inquiries.
  • Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
  • Keeping equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current CMA or RMA required
  • Must be CPR Certified
  • 1-3 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting environment preferred
