The Medical Director will oversee clinical operations within a correctional healthcare setting, ensuring the delivery of high-quality medical services. This role is pivotal in maintaining the health standards and medical protocols necessary for effective patient care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and supervise the clinical team, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate with community medical providers to address patient care challenges.
  • Provide on-call medical services as required.
  • Review and approve clinical protocols and emergency plans annually.
  • Manage referrals to external healthcare facilities, ensuring quality and continuity of care.
  • Support the training and compliance of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Act as a resource for all medical staff, providing guidance and support.
  • Participate in the recruitment and evaluation of healthcare professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical school.
  • Active medical license in the state of practice.
  • Current DEA registration.

  • Fluency in English, encompassing reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Capacity to make independent decisions in a clinical setting.
