Mental Health Technician in Emergency Department

Responsibilities:
* Provide continuous care and supervision of patients to ensure a safe and secure environment
* Assist with routine patient care activities, including obtaining clinical data and performing point-of-care testing
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping hallways clear of excess equipment and supplies
* Assist visitors and answer telephones
* Follow and participate in patient's plan of care
* Assist with the management of aggressive patients
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to establish goals and restrictions of privileges based on patient behavior and level of care
Requirements:
* High School Diploma or GED required
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mental health or human services related field preferred
* Previous experience in healthcare or mental health preferred
* Excellent communication skills desired with ability to work collaboratively as member of multi-disciplinary team
* Complete required Workplace Violence Prevention Training within 6 months of hire
