Job Summary

Position Overview

Las Palmas Medical Center is seeking a skilled Sonographer II PRN to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing Echocardiography Ultrasound techniques and examinations for subsequent evaluation and interpretation by a physician.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform Echo's on patients in all settings, including Intensive Care areas
  • Ensure proper care and maintenance of equipment, reporting any malfunctions or downtime
  • Conduct quality Echocardiography diagnostic studies according to physician orders
  • Maintain accurate records of examination data and other pertinent information on patients
  • Communicate findings to the physician interpreting the studies
  • Notify physicians upon completion of studies
  • Participate in 'On Call' coverage as needed

Requirements

  • BCLS Certification
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer in Echocardiography under ARDMS or CCI, obtained within twelve-months of employment start date

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cardiovascular system
  • Able to recognize abnormalities, correlate information obtained, and convey preliminary findings to physicians
  • Proficient sonographic techniques to produce accurate and appropriate physiologic information
  • Flexibility with work situations
  • Basic clerical skills
