The Manager of Cost Analysis and Accounting will conduct ongoing evaluations of all production-related processes to deliver insights to the Senior Leadership team. This role will involve extracting financial data and creating comprehensive reports for department leaders to identify trends and enhance profitability. The cost analysis manager will assess the potential implementation of new production technologies and evaluate cost changes against expected outcomes and new product launches. In the long run, this position will develop a team to manage multiple operational sites across various regions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Additional tasks may be assigned.

  • Examine supply chain and material costs, labor expenses, shipping discounts, and quarterly sales data for each division of the organization;
  • Facilitate cost setup, updates, and reporting;
  • Evaluate standard and overhead allocation costs for accuracy and suggest updates to the costing framework;
  • Contrast standard costs with actual costs and investigate discrepancies;
  • Propose strategies to minimize costs and maximize profits;
  • Maintain cost accounting systems;
  • Conduct margin assessments;
  • Assist in month-end closing processes (Journal Entries, Variance Analysis, Account Reconciliations, & Inventory/COGS explanations);
  • Lead the execution of monthly physical inventory procedures and perform reconciliation tasks;
  • Collaborate with Finance and Production teams to establish Budget/Forecast production costs/goals;
  • Generate Ad Hoc reports.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for mentoring others and providing on-the-job training or guidance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (BA, BS) with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or cost accounting setting. Experience with ERP systems is required.
  • MBA/CPA/CMA preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
