Position Summary:
The Inventory Accounting Senior Assistant plays a vital role within the Vail Resorts Finance division, specifically supporting the Retail team in Building Leaders and Driving Value. This position provides essential accounting assistance for various on-mountain inventory categories, including Food and Beverage, Fuel, and Lift Parts. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the Inventory Accounting Analyst and the Inventory Accounting Manager, focusing on operational support and monthly closing activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute monthly closing tasks, ensuring timely and precise journal entries related to retail inventory and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain communication with field operations regarding inventory counts and ensure timely adjustments are made prior to monthly journal entries.
- Engage actively in team meetings and contribute to discussions.
- Facilitate and lead training sessions for field operators.
- Collaborate with various internal and external teams, including Operations, Vendors, IT, Finance, Accounts Payable, and Audit.
- Provide requested reporting to field operations.
- Contribute to achieving individual, team, and departmental goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in business, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Motivated to excel and contribute value to the finance organization.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Prior experience with IQWare and Inntopia is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected compensation for this role is $24.49 per hour. Compensation decisions are based on various factors.
