Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing and dispensing mail order medical prescriptions for our nation's veterans. This is an excellent opportunity for new graduates of Pharmacy Technician programs with certification seeking initial work experience.
Responsibilities- Prepare and dispense medications under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Maintain inventories of drugs and supplies, ensuring accurate stock control.
- Operate various types of pharmacy automation equipment.
- Fill and stock medications in a timely and efficient manner.
- Certification by the National Pharmacy Technician Board or six months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Graduation from an Academic Technician Training Educational Program.
- U.S. citizenship or proof of citizenship or legal residency in the United States.
- Age 18 or older and high school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read and communicate in English.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, twist, and stoop; push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time performing repetitive motion.
- Ability to meet production/accuracy standards required by the facility.
- Ability to understand and meet all safety standards.
- Ability to meet all regular hours and overtime hours required by the facility.
