Job Summary

DLH Corporation is seeking a PRN (as needed) Pharmacist to join our team. As a PRN Pharmacist, you will be responsible for verifying mail order prescriptions for our nation's veterans. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and organized individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

  1. Assess drug orders and cross-match with medications presented at checking stations.
  2. Compound and dispense medications.
  3. Pre-verify medications loaded into highly specialized mechanical equipment.
  4. Verify and fill controlled substance orders.
  5. Perform Quality Assurance functions and supervise Pharmacy Technicians.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
  • Hold a valid and unrestricted Pharmacist License in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Minimum of one year of recent (within the past two years) practical pharmacist experience.
  • Ability to obtain VetPro certification (credentialing system required of all VHA health care providers).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of citizenship or legal residency in the United States.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communications.
  • Must be able to read and communicate in English.
  • Be able to lift 30 pounds.
  • Have the ability to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Be able to meet all regular hours and overtime hours that are required by the facility.

Working Conditions

This position is located in a secured federal building. The successful candidate must be able to pass a Federal background check, which includes a review of their criminal history and a drug screening, including THC (marijuana).
