Job Summary:

As a Procurement Field Sourcing Specialist at Air Liquide, you will play a critical role in supporting the company's safety, efficiency, compliance, and savings initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to provide dedicated professional sourcing and value creation services to assigned business units or operating zones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Sourcing Activities: Manage all contact between Air Liquide and bidders, develop technical specifications and/or scopes of work with internal customers, investigate, qualify, and recommend bidders, and develop and issue formal requests for quotes (RFQ's).
  • Commercial Risk Management: Identify and address business risks during the bidding and sourcing process, verify that all contractors are appropriately pre-screened for safety, and initiate the contractor pre-screening process for new contractors as required.
  • Tactical Sourcing Initiatives: Attend and actively participate in budget planning meetings for assigned business units or zones, actively participate in Turnaround (TAR) planning meetings, lead TAR procurement planning process and pre-TAR supplier site visits, and maintain TAR activity tracking sheets for each major TAR.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Document and report all cost savings associated with sourcing activities, provide supporting documentation on sourcing activities as backup to purchase orders, and maintain current listings of contractors utilized in assigned business units or zones.
  • Corporate Supply Chain Initiatives: Champion the use of managed suppliers (frame agreements), report events of non-compliance (leakage) of frame agreements to appropriate category managers, identify opportunities for creation of frame agreements, and participate in relevant supplier relationship management meetings.
Requirements:
  • Education: College degree with 2 years of purchasing experience supporting operations or manufacturing, or 2 years of operations with strong commercial skill sets.
  • Experience: Some sourcing experience in a Supply Chain Management organization, with a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management organizations preferred.
Work Environment:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement and sourcing, with excellent communication and negotiation skills. The work environment will be primarily office-based, with occasional plant visits.
