Position Overview
The Security Compliance Specialist is responsible for conducting conformance assessments against various security standards. This role involves evaluating designs and implementations for adherence to established requirements, which includes documentation, software, hardware, physical security, logical security, functional and operational testing, as well as test planning and reporting. Additional responsibilities may include the development of new testing protocols, tools, and reporting templates.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver expert security and technical services to clients, encompassing conformance testing and other evaluations such as penetration testing, application vulnerability assessments, physical security audits, and network security evaluations.
- Plan and execute tests as authorized by the Technical Manager.
- Adapt testing methodologies and create new validated methods, under the guidance of the Technical Manager.
- Report on test outcomes, including interpretations and recommendations, as sanctioned by the Technical Manager.
- Specialize in various product categories, including FIPS 140-2 Conformance Testing, Postage Evidencing Systems Evaluations, Infrastructure Audits, Cryptographic Algorithm Testing, and IT Network Assessments.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in security standards and testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with security levels and techniques related to hardware implementations and tamper detection.
- Experience in evaluating operating systems under established criteria.
- Certification for FIPS 140-2 testing.
- Preferred security certifications such as CISSP.
- Strong IT knowledge, including networking and operating systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or Java.
- Experience in penetration testing and cryptography.
- Technical writing skills and familiarity with security standards.
