Position: Senior Revenue Accountant

Location: Remote

As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accurate accounting of our revenue streams.

Your responsibilities will encompass maintaining robust systems and processes, ensuring adherence to revenue recognition standards, and executing month-end and quarterly closing tasks, including comprehensive reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the capacity to communicate effectively across teams. You should demonstrate organizational prowess, deliver high-quality work efficiently, and provide insightful data and advice while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess transactions for appropriate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Support sales and legal teams during contract negotiations by reviewing draft agreements and offering revenue recognition insights.
  • Collaborate with various departments to analyze new licensing or subscription frameworks.
  • Identify revenue recognition implications and relay significant risks to accounting leadership.
  • Assist in coordinating monthly and quarterly closing processes.
  • Maintain and revise internal control documentation related to revenue recognition and aid in audits of associated controls.
  • Review and validate all revenue recognition disclosures in financial statements.
  • Generate detailed revenue reports as required for management analysis.
  • Monitor changes in industry regulations regarding revenue recognition and develop new policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Facilitate the transition of business processes into a new accounting system.
  • Calculate standalone selling price (SSP) allocations.
  • Assess deferral and amortization of contract acquisition costs.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification is mandatory.
  • 2-5 years of technical accounting experience, ideally with a focus on Revenue Recognition in both public accounting and corporate settings.
  • Proven technical expertise and comprehensive understanding of GAAP in revenue recognition, particularly in a software context. Familiarity with ASC 606 / IFRS 15 is essential.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth research on complex accounting issues and effectively summarize findings.
  • Experience with Federal contracts is advantageous.
  • Proficient in various software applications; familiarity with Salesforce, Oracle Fusion, and SQL is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel, is required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
