Job Summary

Northern Kentucky University is seeking a part-time faculty member to teach courses in chemistry and biochemistry. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in chemistry or a related field and experience in teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a two or three-contact hour course during scheduled course times.
  • Create a syllabus with a timeline of classes for students.
  • Provide times to meet students outside of class (office hours; virtual or face-to-face).
  • Manage course content for students through Canvas.
  • Manage mid-term and final grades through the MyNKU online grading system.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage syllabus materials, including selecting and compiling tests, assignments, and online discussion exercises.
  • Coordinate courseware and curriculum with the academic department chair.
  • Facilitate class instruction and administer evaluations of student performance based on course deliverables and course rubrics.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in chemistry or a related field and experience in teaching. A cover letter, vitae, and the names of at least three professional references are required.
