About the Role

Beebe Healthcare is seeking a skilled Surgical First Assistant to join our Operating Room team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the surgical team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in positioning, skin preparation, and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
  • Provide hemostasis, wound exposure, and handle tissue appropriately to reduce the potential for injury.
  • Apply dressings to wounds under the direction of the surgeon.
  • Use surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their design and purpose.
  • Perform other medical services as required within the scope of practice for a Certified Surgical Technologist.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
  • Preferred Education: Associate's Degree
  • Minimum Experience: 3 - 5 years as a Certified Surgical Technologist
  • Req Cert/Registration: NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist; CSFA certification; BLS certification
  • Req Course(s)/Training: Successful completion of a Certified Surgical First Assistant program that includes a didactic and at least 140 documented procedures

  • Essential: BLS - Basic Life Saving certification
