Job Summary:

The Charge Nurse-Inpatient plays a crucial role in providing clinical supervision to a team of licensed and unlicensed staff during assigned shifts on designated units/departments. This position requires collaboration with the manager and director to ensure seamless operations and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates daily operations based on patient population needs, established professional practice models, regulatory standards, and approved clinical practice standards.
  • Makes assignments based on staff competency, patient acuity, and productivity standards.
  • Provides direct patient care and takes full or partial patient care lists when needed.
  • Promotes the empowerment of the nursing profession and implements new knowledge, innovations, and improvements in practice to enhance patient experience and clinical outcomes.
  • Facilitates a positive environment and provides hands-on guidance to engage staff in adopting a care delivery model of accountability, empowerment, and excellence in practice.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing required if hired after October 1, 2020.
  • Minimum of three years nursing experience in area of specialty in a facility with an equivalent patient acuity level required.
  • Minimum of one year of prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
  • Additional certifications may be required for specific cost centers/departments.
