Job Title: Supervisor-Patient Care

At Loma Linda University Medical Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor-Patient Care to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Supervisor-Patient Care will provide clinical management, including administrative, financial, and human resource management duties. This role will coordinate with the Manager/Director to manage and supervise day-to-day operations on designated unit(s). The successful candidate will collaborate with the Director to ensure continuity of care is provided from shift-to-shift and provide management presence after business hours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates with the Manager/Director to manage and supervise day-to-day operations on designated unit(s)
  • Collaborates with Director to ensure continuity of care is provided from shift-to-shift
  • Provides management presence after business hours
  • Serves as liaison among Manager, Director, team leaders, educators, and staff to implement new processes and changes in clinical practice
  • Mentors and coaches staff
  • Evaluates assigned personnel for clinical competency and advancement on the clinical ladder
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing required (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports)
  • Associate's Degree in nursing with a Bachelor's Degree in a non-nursing field and a Master's degree in nursing (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports)
  • Three years nursing experience in area of specialty and in a facility with an equivalent patient acuity level required
  • One year of prior management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Basic life Support (BLS) certification required
  • American Heart Association (AHS) approved Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required (depending on assignment)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation certification required (depending on assignment)
  • Current certification in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing from a nationally recognized accrediting organization required (depending on assignment)
  • Advanced training in Fetal Monitoring required (depending on assignment)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrates competencies in clinical nursing, leadership, supervisory, management and communications skills, education, and/or staff development
  • Knowledge of healthcare law and finance preferred
